This image was taken at Dairokuten Shrine in Hakone, after the long ascent to the top of the steps. I have always felt that the shrine overshadows the torii as one passes under it. I knew that I had to turn around and soak up the complimentary colors that were right in front of me. There's quite a contrast here, though - rich and bright against such a dark and dull forest.
Produced on aluminum, the image is infused into the surface and not on it, the artwork takes on a nice luminescence. The ultra-hard scratch-resistant surface is waterproof/weatherproof and can be cleaned easily – just avoid direct sunlight.
Torii at Dairokuten Shrine is 12x18 with a satin finish to avoid reflections. It also has a wall mount.
